PHILOSOPHY
At ACACIA RISING COUNSELING, I offer individual, couple, and family therapy using a strength-based heart-centered solution-focused approach grounded in multiple theoretical models, including experiential, emotion-focused, cognitive-behavorial, attachment, and systems.
At ACACIA RISING COUNSELING, I recognize that each individual, couple, and family is unique, and I work with the client system to negotiate a plan that is tailored to meet their needs. I encourage clients to engage in sessions with friends, relatives, partners, or family members who may be affected by the issue(s), or who can asist with understand the issue(s) better.
At ACACIA RISING COUNSELING, I welcome all compositions of families, and do not discriminate based on age, gender, race, class, culture, or sexual orientation.

The Symbology Behind the Logo
HISTORY: Shekhina is the ancient Hebrew Godess of wisdom and joy, the feminine part of Yahweh, and the light that dwells within everything. It is said that Shekhina resides at the root of the Acacia Tree, also known as the Tree of Life because it produces gum arabic, the glue that holds the world together.
DESIGN: If you look closely, you will see two faces that shape the trunk of the acacia tree, with a heart filled with all of the colors of the rainbow rising up between them and breaking open. A sliver of the moon (representing feminine energy) rests upon the upper right side of the heart, and the sun (representing masculine energy) flows between the heart and the roots. The blue rising from the root represents healing energy.
TRANSLATION: When we choose to love, our hearts inevitably get broken open, providing opportunities for growth and healing as well as joy and passion. These are sustained when we seek balance, compromise, and acceptance of the masculine and feminine energies within and between us.
